The Newfound lake Region Association was founded in 1971 by dedicated men and women concerned for the long-term health and beauty of Newfound lake. Volunteer-led programs included monitoring the quality of the lake and its tributaries, partnering with local schools to provide outdoor educational experiences for hundreds of children, and working with towns, camps and businesses to raise awareness of potential threats to the natural environment and their feasible solutions.
The NLRA welcomed Boyd Smith and Martha Twombly as Executive and Program Directors, respectively, in March 2006. Both Boyd and Martha have long-term connections to the Newfound lake area and its community that translate into familiarity with the local environment and a heartfelt passion for the land and people served by the Association.
We rely on our teams of volunteers for our many programs!
